Dát is Noblesse!

What is Noblesse?

Noblesse is a 3 piece indie-rock band from The Netherlands.
Three gentlemen residing in the stuffy and official city of The Hague, with nothing much better to do than rock the lands flat.
Singer/guitarist Orson was a successful ballet dancer, bass player Shag a car mechanic, while drummer Gid was a drummer. After meeting accidently in a bar and realizing they are all half Israeli, they also realized that their instruments of choice formed a perfect rock power trio. And so Noblesse was born.
Blending alt-rock, sleazy pop and punk with a noble touch, Noblesse unleash a contagious brand of indie-rock that grabs you and leaves you yearning for more.
Hard and melodic, daring and accessible, raw and refined. That is Noblesse!

A Promising Start

- The band burst onto the dutch music scene in 2005 with their highly acclaimed debut Ep, titled very simply Four Song Demo.
- The Ep received high praise from a variety of national music magazines such as Up Magazine, LiveXS and Fret, who named it "demo of the month"!
- Songs from the Ep were aired on the radio and on many pod-casts, especially in the USA.
- Following was a long string of shows that drew an ever growing fan base and more rave reviews.
- The band played live on The Netherlands' hottest radio station, 3FM, and won second prize at their regions most important band battle.
- Noblesse didn't stop at the dutch border. The band expanded their reach with shows in Berlin, Tel-Aviv and at the renowned Gentse Feesten festival in Belgium.
- Their most high profile show was at The Music In My Head festival in Holland, sharing the line up with such greats as John Cale, Editors and Maximo Park.
- The famous Belgian magazine Gonzo Circus chose a track from the Ep, Spitting At Clouds, for it's compilation Track 13, showcasing only the very best of dutch underground music. The footnote in the magazine stated that the energy of Noblesse was reminiscent of early Nirvana.

Debut Full Length Album: Sound The Alarm

- After trying and testing their tunes on many stages, the 3 gentlemen entered the studio with producer Henk Koorn and in just 6 days recorded their debut album, Sound The Alarm. The eleven tracks on the record are a raw and pure testament to the integrity and intensity of their music.
- The album was presented in late 2006 in the main hall of the club Paard Van Troje and quickly received loving reviews in the dutch music media.
- Songs from the album were being aired on national radio stations such as Kink.FM.
- An association of music journalists in the band's home city of The Hague chose Sound The Alarm as one of the 3 top albums of the year.

- Following the release of the album Noblesse did a tour throughout The Netherlands of over 30 shows, playing anything from small bars and private events and up to known clubs such as Speakers, Paard Van Troje , Paradiso etc.
and festivals such as Prilpop, Plein Open, Hot Scenes and others.
- The summer of 2007 saw a second trip of the band to Israel, this time playing a packed club Levontin 7 in Tel Aviv, as well as recording of demos for new songs.

Bright Future

- In September of 2007 Noblesse presented a future direction, a groundbreaking show together with choreographer Amos Ben-Tal, formerly of the world famous Nederlands Dans Theater. Amos (aka Orson) is also the front man of Noblesse.
- We Are Not Humanity is a performance that puts the three musicians of Noblesse together on one stage with three top modern dancers in a performance that completely breaks down the traditional setting of both rock concerts as well as contemporary dance performances.
- This impressive show and it's powerful social message were premiered in the international arts festival TodaysArt in The Hague, drawing a wide and diverse public and very positive responses.
- Currently the band is preparing to take this production on the road and expand the possibilities of this new concept.
- Noblesse will also continue to work towards a 2nd album.

Selected quotes from the press:

2005 Ep, Four Song Demo

FRET Magazine: "Demo Of The Month! ...The Hague's rocktrio Noblesse need less than two minutes per song to make their point, and they make it with plenty of conviction!"

UP Magazine:"Two minutes are enough for this band from The Hague to blow away the roof of the building where Up Magazine is situated... They will surely conquer the club circuit soon."

File Under Webzine: " In only 4 songs of uncut powerpop, you get a rush of energy that will last you a few hours. More energy than the entire last Placebo album, a band that can be likened to Noblesse... Live, the band was rock solid. I even took out my ear plugs to take it all in and went to buy a CD".

2006 LP, Sound The Alarm:

LiveXS Magazine:"Local Heroes... Noblesse is brave to present a full length album this early on, but the result is far above the average... excellent indie-rock"

Musicfrom Online Magazine: "with their first Ep Noblesse made a strong impression but with this debut album this impression is not just confirmed, it is very much strengthened".

Festival Info Webzine: "With Sound The Alarm, Noblesse delivers an album that would make other bands jealous..."
